October : Greater New York Customers: A security trading firm's IT organization went "Stealth" in the rollout of USBmon:

One of our adopters of USBmon rolled out the USBmon product offering to nearly 250 internal users. They are running in stealth mode and are collecting a baseline of USB flash drive usage information to assess the existence of current threats. This information will also be used to develop exception rules triggering alerts requiring immediate attention rather than waiting for USB activity log review.

USBMon can run with full user awareness or monitor silently in the background ("Stealth" Mode). Stealth mode provides the perfect vehicle for IT and security organizations to develop an initial threat assessment or picture of how USB drives are actually used in the network both in frequency and time patterns. For organizations with a "No USB Drive" policy, this information can be particularly enlightening.

With our customers permission we will keep everyone updated as to what happens with this installation. Since most customers purchase the product to find, track and then eliminate internal threats, we will not be using the customers name without written permission.

Stay tuned....
