Aug  29th – Bob, IT Manager in (NH) “I have down loaded and installed iCUSB on all our workstations. When the employees came in the next day and saw that as soon as they plugged in a USB thumb drive  our Corporate Policy about personal USB usage popped up on their monitor, they immediately removed their personal USB devices.  It has greatly discouraged the use of employees bringing in their personal thumb drives and taking home corporate content, Great Product … Thanks

Sept 4th – AJ,  IT Director at solutions company (NH).  “We have downloaded and installed iCUSB with the both the Corporate Policy pop up option and the Port Blocking option enabled. Now when the VP walks around we don’t have to explain why so many employees have IPODS plugged in… stopped the use of IPODs by employees immediately… nice product, does what it says..”

Sept 5th – Gene, Supervisor of Customer Support and Billing (Ma). Like many in out industry, We were vulnerable to identify theft.  We had recently found a  USB thumb drive plugged into a computer with customer information on it. We needed an immediate solution to prevent USB storage devices from being inserted. iCUSB now blocks the USB ports on all our customer support and billing systems that are used by our support personnel. We are using this as a interim solution while we evaluate NextSysSecure’s USBmon Standard Edition. As well as other industry solutions.

Sept 5th – Question, James,  IT Security Large University Campus :  We support a multi OS environment  VISTA , XP and  WIN 2K on some older machines, what does the free version of iCUSB support?

Sept 5th – (A) – iCUSB and all other NextSysSecure USB security products work the same across multiple Windows Operating systems. We test and certify across XP and WIN 2K. VISTA will be coming by end of year.

Sept 5th – Kristin, College student:  I have a single computer, my dorm mate uses my computer sometimes, but she is always plugging her IPOD and other USB devices into my computer. Can iCUSB prevent her from inserting USB devices while still allowing me to use my IPOD and other USB devices.?

Sept 6th – (A)  Yes Kristin, problem solved. Although intended for the business community, iCUSB will work on a single computer, kind of like a Personal Edition of iCUSB. It can easily be configured to allow USB device usage for your logon and restrict your room mates logon to dis-allow IPODS and other USB devices from being used. The user guide documents exactly how easy it is to set different levels of access per userid on a single machine.

iCUSB Forum: If  you want to add your success story or just have questions, visit us on the NextSysSecure USB Security Forum, where either our “Support Expert” or “Chief Scientist”  will answer questions about any of our USB security products.
