Our Advisors

  John S. Brandte
John Brandte brings with him over 25 years of experience and accomplishment in finance, marketing, business development and general management within high technology industries. He has held executive positions at Racal-Datacom, Aware, Inrange Technologies and NComm, Inc.

His finance accomplishments include the development of critical analytical tools for forecasting the impacts of changes in demand on manufacturing costs (Xerox), the timing of bookings on revenue, and New Product P&L exposure (Racal Datacom). John was also the primary Mergers and Acquisitions analyst accurately valuing candidates including the successful acquisition of several divisions of DCA, and developed the detailed post acquisition operating strategy including gaining the buy-in of the remaining DCA management team. He also has extensive experience in operating and long range planning, and casual analysis (Xerox and Racal Datacom).

In marketing and business development, John established the software start-up NComm as the defacto standard for WAN source code through the successful combination of partnerships with the top industry silicon providers, effective value based software pricing, web presence and promotion, and personally selling to established and hot start-up communication equipment firms. He achieved 100% growth for the first three years with a minimal marketing and sales budget. The company remained profitable throughout the communications industry meltdown. His accomplishments also include successfully rationalizing multi-channel pricing to minimize channel conflict, standardizing market based pricing, and developing Racal's financial selling strategies and training (Racal).

In General Management, he grew Racal Datacom's Digital Products division from $15M to $75M with staff increasing from 23 to over 60 engineers and marketers. The product line achieved two years of number one market share with minimal price erosion over a four year period.

John has a BS (accounting) from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Simon School of Management, University of Rochester. He is also active in the Kairos Prison Ministry and is a Board member of the Deering Center, Deering, NH.
